Sensory Integration

What is Sensory Integration?

Sensory Integration is how the brain interprets and responds to what is going on inside of the body and around it. It is made up of several main sensory areas: 

Sometimes the brain misinterprets or responds incorrectly to these senses. Occupational Therapy helps interpretation become more accurate. 

Does my child need Sensory Integration?

Kids may misinterpret or incorrectly react to one or more of these areas. Three or more checks on the Sensory Integration Red Flag Checklists indicate your child may benefit from sensory integration
